Description

I helped doing a presentation about maori tattoos (ta moko) and got inspired…haha
I needed a new bag anyway because the one I used for university was falling apart,
so I made somes stencils, painted a white sheet and used it for making this bag. The black fabric was left from my pencil skirt and for one side of the lining I used some bird fabric from IKEA.
The bag has 1 zipper pocket and two other ones (1 for my mobile+one bigger one).
I got the measurements from my old bag and the strap is taken from an ugly bag noone used.
I might add a snap… probably.

this is so cute! I’m very impressed by maori tattoos and because I will not have my whole body tattooed in that very special way…(not in this life….)maybe putting it on fabric is an alternative ;))

I would love to use a stencil on fabric! Is it just fabric paint? Do you find it survives washes and lasts? I like the effect!

Yes, it’s just fabric paint. For the black pattern I used a very dry brush and not a lot of paint which is why it looks different than the painted parts of the bird. Mh… I don’t really know. I’ve only washed it once and it looks like before (except for the dirt of course : ) ). My feeling tells me that it’ll survive coming washes as well, but there is no proof yet.
