This shirt turned out to be quite a tight fit (intentional) with a collar that would have made the 70s proud (unintentional) and rivaled Dumbo’s ears. After finishing the shirt I cut the collar back to half its size but the collar is still a bit funny but the wearer is happy, fortunately. I don’t know what went wrong, I followed the pattern and instructions.
interfacing, buttons, light cotton.

Excellent job, I am just having fun trying to reshape collars too! I am sure it something to do with the pattern it just seems too big, but it looks like you sorted it just fine.

Hi
Lovely shirt, looks very neatly sewn, especially considering the pattern in the fabric!
I’m sewing a Jakob for my partner and we’ve also noticed the collar seems enormous. Might be worth making a mock of that as well! (I’ve made a muslin mock for the main body of the shirt).

Hi Kimono1. I like the color, the fabric, the design and the glass of wine next to the wearer. I think after the second glass of wine no-one will notice about the collar… haha. I did not noticed at first and I did not have any wine around.

Hi, nice shirt, very fancy. The collar looks good (I also found that I had to chop a whole lot off the collar of this pattern too)

Very nice work and I love the fabric! The collar looks fine now and the wearer looks happy with it…….and very good in it :0) Once again, beautiful job!

Hmm, I have no insight into what could have gone wrong with the collar initially but no matter, you fixed it brilliantly and it looks great! The wearer certainly does look pleased with it :o) It’s a great fabric- where did you get?
