this dress will forever be my italian friend. is this brocade actually from italy? i don’t know. but mood has dubbed it “italian night out”, so there you have it.
the fabric was scrumptious to work with. so soft on the reverse, it didn’t need a lining. as far as the pattern turned out, there’s a flaw or two, but i still love it. something’s going on with that back waist. i don’t know if it’s a pattern problem or an oona problem. could be a whiskey problem.

I love the piping (is it really piping or just my imagination?) in the unexpected color! it also gives your body a nice feminine defining shape and I’m not even going to start about the mouth watering side affect to the booty. thanks for the inspiration!

i think what’s happening at the back is that the back waist measurement is too long for you. if you can pin it up and tuck the extra away without destroying the look and the length, it should get rid of the problem. it is lovely!

thank you jane! yes, i agree about the back— but what’s weird is it didn’t happen in the muslin… i think maybe i threw the armhole balance off somehow… anyway. ;(. i may get the courage to take ye olde seam ripper to it when i’m reunited with my serger, for now i hate to rip open my hong kong seams!
