Shirt developed from McCall’s 6890 for Peter Lappin’s MPB shirt sew-along in February, 2011. I daresay the fabric I chose was never intended for apparel, but something about the purple and the bold pattern caught my eye at Josephine’s Dry Goods (fabulous Portland, OR fabric store!). After many tweaks with the muslin, I finally had something that fit me—I decided to use a “vintage” commercial pattern rather than one I had drafted as something of a challenge, although in the end, the pattern was changed enough that it was truly a hybrid. I love the resulting shirt, and wear it to great compliments. Why can’t menswear have color and oomph?

I Love this, my furniture design teacher would kill for this… I’m now trying to find that fabric on the company’s website.
