Description
Here, we show you how to make a patternless circle skirt, sweet and simple. With just a little basic geometry and a big piece of fabric, you are on your way to a beautiful wrap skirt. We are drawing two concentric circles: the inner circle is the waistline, and the outer circle is the hem. The difference between the inner and outer circles’ circumference measurements creates a gentle, lovely fullness. (This method works for a shorter skirt on a wide fabric. For a longer skirt and/or wider waist, you may have to use seams in your circle.)
Material Notes
2 yards wide fabric, snap, 2 pieces 1” D-ring hardware, tape measure

this is lovely but does any one know how i could make this lower to sit on the hips, instead of the waist? im thinking just take the waist measurement. does that sound right ?

I should think that would work for the skirt part, but you may need a shaped waistband to make it sit properly.

Oh my god this is darling. Thank you for this! After running into some of these awesome patterns I kind of feel crazy spending so much on clothes when you guys make cuter ones for way less haha. :D Hope to get back to this page soon with a finished skirt!

any kind of fabric would be fine, but if you’re a beginner try to not go for stretch or satiny fabrics, as they’re a bit harder to work with. a light cotton with a cute print would look great!

I made this skirt!! It was my first skirt to make and the directions from this project are so easy to follow and understand. I’m very very new to sewing and still can’t believe I did it!

I have a question. I’m rather new at sewing. In this step 4. I have done part of the step. The 2nd part where it says "fold and press at 1 1/2 inches, this is the facing. I am confused by this. Not bc your pattern is confusing, but because I am still novice.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

obxkarla – it means to fold over 1 1/2 inches of the edge of fabric, and iron. “press” means iron :)
