Determine waist measurements for your skirt. Measure your waist (for our example, 26”). For each front side we add 5 ½” for overlap + 1 ½” for facing + 5/8” seam allowance = 7 5/8”. Mulitply 7 5/8” by 2 (for the other front side) = 15 ¼”. So, 15 ¼” + 26 = 41 ¼” = C. This is the circumference (“C”) of the inner circle. To easily draw this circle, we need to find its radius (“r”). C = 6.28r. So 41 ¼” / 6.28 = 6 ½” = r.
