Magnified Dot Shift Dress

Added Mar 5, 2014

I am madly in love with 60s shift dresses at the moment so I had to try Burda 7056 (from burda style’s paper pattern line).

What I like about the pattern: It’s roomy without being unflattering, I love the gentle A-line silhouette and I also really like the unusual way the armholes are cut (even if it does mean wearing a special bra to hide your straps).

I did have to lower the neckline because it was originally so high that it was a little uncomfortable.

More project images and details on my blog!

Material Notes

Discounted stretch sateen (from Spotlight), Invisible zip, Gtermann polyeter thread, Iron on interfacing (for facings)

Garment Type

Burda 7056

Love the pattern, the dress looks great on you! How much did you take off the high neckline? I’m making this pattern right now.
