Wellington, New ...
please excuse my AWFUL explaining :-D -
so i’d been thinking about this concept of a boofy, feminine, child-like, laughably tacky dress for ages, and finally it became too much and i had to get it out of my system!
it’s a magenta dress, with about 6meters worth of skirt and underskirt (an old sheet) all gathered up! the underskirt features a wavey frill around the hem.. and the top layer has a scalloped finish…
the bodice is mounted onto some floral curtain fabric to hold it’s shape.. and i’ve given it a peter pan collar from a pink and purple cat fabric :-) and then added lace to the edge. i gathered some leftover magenta fabric and stuck an odd button in the middle.
around the waist i’ve sewn on a satin ribbon and a delightfully tacky sequin trim i almost overlooked at spotlight..
entry is through a zipper at the back. :-)
polyester crushed satin.. stuff. curtain fabric.. cotton, ribbon, sequins, lace.. an old sheet..
