Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This dress is sort of my experiment of making clothes without pattern. I measured myself and drew straight on the fabric. The checks pattern really helped a lot for positioning.
The top part stops above the bust, and the bottom part is just a pair of ruffled long rectangles. The sleeves are a pair of long rectangles, each folded in half and then ruffled. That way they don’t need to be hemmed. I added a loop and fabric-covered button on the front closure and that was it!

This is perfect! You’ve read my mind, I drew a dress almost identical to this one but couldnt seem to get my fabric to work for me. I’ve since turned it into another dress, but you’ve inspired me to try again on this style! It’s beautiful!

loving it loving it loving it… not that long ago, and inspired by the D&G winter collection for last year, i bought a very simmilar fabric, and was considering maing a dress mixing the fabric with another one to break up the scale…. Your dress has inspired and motivated me to begin work ;-)
