no alterations. Fabric was from fabricmart and I was really disappointed when I got it! wasn’t the knit texture I thought it would be…so I used it to test the pattern first before I do it on a wool fabric. The fabric was a bit heavy and hard to work with (fixing stitch lengths..blah blah blah).
I think the fit is okay. I will try it next on wool.

It would be a great piece with stretchy sling material although it’s a pain to sew! Looking forward to the finished piece :)

No, the fabric I used was just too slippery and stretchy- and I am not good at the best of times at turning precise angles on my overlocker/serger. I should have pieced it together first with a straight basting stitch on my regular machine but I was kidding myself I had the skills to do it right on the serger :o(

ah…(blush) really? I guess the difficult part in this pattern is to not mix up the pieces when you cut(pin it to the paper pattern). Then careful try to orient it to the correct position. Is that the part troubling you?

Okay pinkhibiscus, having spent my day off yesterday attempting to emulate your bold knit-variation of Maddy… I now bow down to you as the master. My efforts were a dismal failure. YOU THE SEWIST!

The fabric looks great, but its the texture I don’t like. Actually, I thought all knits are cotton, which is my mistake…so this one is like rougher polyester material. I was hoping for a softer one :p I have no special foot, just the regular one…I top stitched it so it looks good on outside..but…a bit aweful on the inside(uneven). It turns out the texture seems to work great with MAddy.
Size wise, I followed the actual measurements, I did not go down a size.

I hadn’t thought to try Maddy with a knit, it works really well! I know you’re not jazzed on the fabric but I like it, it’s a nice print. You’ve done an especially good job on the binding at the armhole edges- did you use a cover-stitch machine/binding foot? And did you go down a smaller size in order to account for the knit stretch?

Very nice. Whatever you say about the fabric doesn’t show in the finished piece.
