I am 100% in love with this dress. The color, the fit, the collar, everything about it is perfect! Is the basic dress pattern you modify one that you created or is it one you purchased?

Hi everyone! Thanks for the kind comments. To answer your question, no, it is not from a pattern. I have a basic dress pattern that I modify. I would say making a collar was easier then I expected overall, but one important thing is to make sure to slightly roll the fabric under the collar so the collar turns down (instead of up, like mine!). I used the Reader’s Digest Complete Guide to Sewing as a guide — the collar section is very helpful and clear. Just like the rest of the book actually. But yeah, I love collars and I look forward to seeing what all of you will make!

I didn’t use a pattern for the collar unfortunately. But the dress is based on See & Sew’s B5168.
