Vintage velvet sheath upcycled into a sleeveless dress with gored skirt and printed collar. I heavily adapted Burda 7556 for the bodice and used Elegant Musings’s pattern for the collar (available here: http://blog.caseybrowndesigns.com/2011/12/autumn-collars/). I transferred an illustration from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland onto the collar using a woodworker’s transfer tool. The skirt was assembled more or less randomly with gores cut from material taken from the original dress’s sleeves and bodice, and it ended up with a sort of bubble hem.
Blue velvet self and pewter silk lining, both dating from the 80’s. White cotton broadcloth for the collar.
