I added sleeves to this princess seam sheath dress. Sort of going for the Mad Men Joanie dress. The colour is off in the photo – it’s more of a teal green. And wow, I had to cut this dress way down! It turned out pretty good fit-wise. The arm holes are a bit weird at the back – I didn’t do a great job of shortening the bodice to accommodate my short waisted torso. Still, it turned out great and was a very easy pattern to sew. Will definitely make this again. Can’t wait to wear this to work!
Double knit stretch jersey. I eliminated the zipper and back split because of the stretch.

Absolutely lovely! How did you make the sleeves? lately I tried to make some for a self drafted pattern, I really failed…

this is lovely! is the top cut on the bias, as it seems to have a bit of a cowl? if not, how did you get that effect?

Thanks!! I didn’t resize the front panel enough so it’s actually just too big! Because it’s a double knit I just tucked the middle in put a little stay stitch to hold it to create a little drapy effect. Love happy mistakes!
