i used mccalls 5927 to start working out a fitted sloper. since this pattern has a high neckline and sleeves it’s an ideal starting point. i’ve come pretty close and only have a small number of tweaks i’d make in the future. i worked really hard to match my plaids all the way around. it was a hair-pulling experience and took me hours longer to cut than normal. it didn’t help that i didn’t exactly buy enough fabric to account for the large scale plaid… oops. i miraculously managed to fit it all and i’m super happy with how it turned out!
i have a few posts about it over on my blog:notes from a mad housewife
super cozy 100% cotton flannel

You should be happy with yourself. It suits you very well. I am completely biased in favour of your project because I myself am mad for plaid!
