Tamanegi-Kobo has something similar in a loose tunic-y style for those who aren’t into the 50s silhouette but like this general style http://tamanegikobo.ocnk.net/product/45 In Japanese but the instructions are like those in Japanese sewing books- clear and well illustrated.

the black material you used on the top does that have any stretch in it at all?

The instructions and patterns are very high quality, in my opinion. The sizing is closer to ready to wear, and the fit has much less ease than other patterns, which helps get a more tailored fit (in keeping with the vintage style). If you’re unsure what size to cut, go with the higher one. I cut an 8 on the bodice, and a 10 on the skirt. I transitioned between the two sizes on the midriff piece. The fit was perfect for me, after I did a small bust adjustment.

I’m loving these patterns. I’ve just purchased the Beignet to make for a coworker’s wedding next month and I’m glad to see (on your blog) that the patterns and instructions are quality.

I love this pattern! I’ve had my eyes on it for a while (and that delicious Beignet skirt too…) Your version looks fantastic.
How did you find the quality of fit, instructions etc?
