Auckland, New Ze...
This dress was inspired by view B of McCalls 8357. It’s a blouse pattern from the late 40’s early 50’s.
I had to do some SERIOUS adaptations to get it to look like the dress in my head, and to convert it from a blouse to a dress – but it was WORTH it :)
It is supposed to have a little collar, but on my boyfriend’s advice left it off – to his great dismay he’s getting quite good at this stuff, lol.
All 7 buttons are covered with the fabric they’re on. The hem sits about 3 or 4 inches above the knee.
It is such a super cute dress and I’m massively proud of it, I wish the photos had worked out better.
Soft black herringbone.
Celebrate with lovely dresses, sparkly dolman tees, and an embellished peplum skirt.
