The moment I saw this pattern I fell in love with it… I had leftover wool fabric from my dress and it was just about the right amount – even though I had to piece it together a tiny little bit. I added the velvet for some extra weight, warmth and luxury. I love the details (the pockets!) and the fact that it’s fully lined. I didn’t find it difficult, it was a very quick project, but I did give the pockets a trial run first (as I had absolutely no fabric to waste!). I had cool buttons picked out already, but then didn’t feel like cutting into my velvet, so I used three extra large snap bottons instead. Come on gals, I know there are others who have already completed this – I’d love to see other versions :-)

Thank you! Well, it’s actually not warm enough for here right now, we have minus degrees Celsius at the moment… but I agree, this is my first cape ever and I think it’s cool!

It is amazing how it comes out! The Lindsay gets a complete new look with the velvet you put in. Klasse!

I never thought of making a cape, but now when I see yours, I think I’ll do it. It looks so good, I love how you used the velvet.

i have some grey wool in the closet and i’ve been debating about whether to make a skirt, or this cape. i think you’ve convinced me to try this one… the velvet is a great touch. very nice.

Love love love it!!!! Everything in it is beautiful – the combination of fabrics (that velvet looks sooooo warm and comfy), the pockets, the workmanship! It looks absolutely beautiful and richer than the original, which I found rather plain, even though I liked the shape of it!!! I am seriously changing my mind about the garment!!!
