Originally I planned to wear this dress for Christmas. That didn’t quite work out because it didn’t really fit me. Usually I don’t need to make toiles for burdapatterns (this one is from burdamagazine 10/2009, forgot the number) because I know which sizes fit me. But this one was way to wide at the waist and to tight at the hips. So the poor dress got abandoned and almost forgotten until I found it again recently and finally altered and finished it. I rarely have occasions to wear it, so these pictures were taken around midnight when we came back from a family friend’s birthday dinner. Thanks to my Mum for staying up a and helping me :)
The original pattern doesn’t have the lapels, instead it has a big bow. I like my version better ;)
