When I was in Italy in September I bought a pinky purple dress from a fleamarket for E5 – very cheap! I recently wore the dress for the first time, and decided that maybe I could wear a long dress (I hadn’t worn a long dress in about 15 years), I’m quite short and just thought it made me look shorter. Last Sunday morning I cut the dress from the Italy dress, and when our daughter had her 1.5 hour nap, I quickly sewed it up. It was a fun project, I don’t have to wear a bra, it fits great and afterwards I had a lovely new summer dress that I wore the next night out to dinner! (I really like the pleat in the front – quite forgiving when your tummy isn’t flat as a pancake! When I see how expensive long dresses like these are in the shops at the moment, I am so grateful I can sew!
