Description

I bought this nice wool fabric in a web-shop and I just love this blue color. I was so happy when I received the fabric! I have been thinking of making this pattern #106 Burda 08/2013 from the first time I saw it in the magazine. For the lining I had exactly enough left from my Top; www.burdastyle.com/projects/split-sleeve-dolman-top
I’m very happy with the Blazer and have used it already :)

Material Notes

Light wool and satin for the lining.

Hi Ellen, that’s a great jacket you’ve made! I just started on this project and I cannot figure out one thing. In the instructions only pieces 2 (facing) and 6 (collar) need to be interfaced. But on the pictures they show that piece 1 (center front piece) is interfaced as well. I don’t know which is right. I think the text should be right and I don’t need to interface piece 1. What did you do?

Hi Hedonella, Nice to hear that you like my jacket :) I did interface piece 1 as well. As you can see on the picture in the instruction back in the magazine it is drawn with interface, and I think it will be more steady. Wishing you all good luck with your project!!

Lovely blazer Ellen and this color really looks great on you. I can’t say how many times I’ve looked at this pattern thinking I would like try it but haven’t been sure if the outcome would look that great. And now your lovely version has totally convinced me to make one of my own :) And by the way – I love the lining!! :)

Ellen this is a beautiful jacket and bang on trend for spring/ summer. I love this colour and it’s lovely on you. The lining is perfect and you got a great fit. I love your styling and as i am shoe mad lol i love your blue heels. I got myself some fabulous heavy curtain fabric in a charity shop to make a blazer!! There’s loads of fabric so hopefully if it turns out half as good as yours i will be happy. I have never made a blazer but i said this year i was going to push myself x

Oh, Mary – that’s great! I’m sure you can make a nice jacket of that fabric! I have used curtain fabric for jackets several times, and the fabric is perfect for that since it’s not so soft. Looking forward to see it!! :-) Thanks for your lovely comments!

It is a very nice pattern, I like it very much, too. It has not many details so good for combination with other clothes and lets wear different accessoires. The colour you chose is great, it suits you no doubt. You look both stylish and relaxed:-)
