I’ve wanted to make a pair of high-waisted grey sateen pants for a long while and even drafted the Trousers with Zippers (#109) pattern, but decided that there is no way that pleated trousers look attractive on me even though they looked so cute on the model in the picture! So, I made the Skinny, Ankle-cut Trousers (#125) and just decided not to cuff them to keep the length long. I have a pretty long in-seam, so I was please to find that I didn’t have to lengthen these much if I didn’t cuff them. I’m pretty pleased with the result, I was a bit lazy and didn’t want to do the whole front fly (especially because the instructions are really difficult to follow!!) so there is just an invisible zipper in the center back. I am still trying to figure out how to style them best for everyday wear – these photos were from a ‘contradictions’
photoshoot where they were styled in a very masculine tone. The photos were taken in the Olympic Sculpture park in Seattle and the garments the other model is wearing were made by the lovely Jackie Arhens at ChariotsAFire
