Los Angeles, Cal...
Spearmint is a beautiful coat with a romantic lolita twist. Spearmint is a stunning option when fashionable outwear is needed. A gorgeous oversized flounce collar cascades around the neck while one statement button holds the coat closed. The coat is fully lined with princess seams that provide shaping and in seam pockets to keep your hands warm. View A is designed to hit at the knee. View B is a longer winter version and hems at mid calf.
For this version I used a sparkly Marc Jacobs wool boucle and made it 5 inches shorter than view A. There are tons more photos and lots of detail on the blog post here: http://www.lolitapatterns.com/my-spearmint/
Also, the group sew-along for this pattern starts today. Details are at: http://www.lolitapatterns.com/spearmint
This coat looks so gorgeous on everyone who makes it! And it can look totally different if you choose a lighter weight fabric or don’t use hair canvas in the collar. Many versions have a softly draping collar. It is so exciting to see all the different versions people make based on their preferences. A round up of many versions around the web can be seen on Pinterest here: http://www.pinterest.com/lolitapatterns/spearmint/
Another cool thing is that the lining is bagged completely by machine..no hand stitching required at all! Very neat technique that can be easily applied to any lined jacket.
Patterns comes in both printed physical form and PDF.
