This is my second time using Salme Patterns. The fabric was fussy, but also very forgiving because it has such a nice drape, and I really like the print. I sized down by two sizes and put the elastic through a casing at the waist for a nice clean look. The pattern instructions left out anything about how to do the keyhole of the neck, so I just cut a facing and sewed that in, having it end underneath where the collar comes away from the neckline. I think I was supposed to use bias tape, but the fabric was so lightweight that I was worried about weighing down the neck.
This is wonderful for hot days because the fabric is so lightweight but is opaque enough that I don’t need a tank or cami underneath. However, I think it will also look great with jeans and a blazer in the fall!
