Description

I’m very excited to wear this cape once it gets chilly enough! It feels like I’m wearing a blanket in public :)

I made the outer shell in a tweed, and lined the inside with polar fleece. I made the lining by bagging it. The only problem I ran into was that I sewed the zipper too low (below the collar), and by the time I realized I had already made the zipper cover-flap and didn’t want to make another. I fixed the problem by making a pleat in the hood to get rid of the collar.

Material Notes

Tweed for the outer shell
Polar fleece for the lining
60 cm zipper
Pleather for the back of the zipper cover-flap

Looks good! Did you struggle with the hood? I am having a hard time with the hood and I am wondering about the zip too… do you think buttons would work or would that be just dumb?

I did struggle a bit with the hood! It’s huge in the pattern, I ended up having to make it smaller. I think duffle coat buttons would look wonderful on the cape, I actually tried to put them on this one but I used the wrong material and ended up rage-quitting and seam ripping them all off. Best of luck!
