I designed this little outfit for a doll that is 7 1/2 inches tall. I wanted it to have a very vintage feel to it…kind of like what little girls wore way-back-when. The little coat is made of 100% wool felt (delightful stuff to work with!) with little details like gingham trim, picot trim, and hand embroidered posies. The little dress underneath it was made of vintage purple floral dimity with a square bertha collar made of cotton batiste. Details included hand embroidery (I love doing the little embroidery on doll clothes because it doesn’t take much time as compared to doing it on “real people” clothing.
Her little hat was once a dolly’s felt sailor hat that I cut the brim off of and repositioned it upside down on the crown to give a victorian flair…..and then all the little details were hand done on it. I made a little unopenable umbrella to go with the whole set and some stockings. I added purchased shoes.
Wool felt, cotton dimity, spandex (for the stockings)
