Based on the JJ blouse, I sewed all the ruffles on the front, and decided that it was just too much fabric for me. Although, I did wear it with all the ruffles for Thanksgiving dinner, and thought it worked well for that. I could have alternately made the ruffles a much smaller width, like at least 1/2. But in the interest of being able to wear this as an everyday blouse, I decided to leave just the center ruffle, and to decrease the amount of gathering in it. Lesson learned: try to leave details reversible, and build in versatility in your sewing!
