Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is my version of a LBD. I always knew I wanted to make the Scuba Dress and this was my perfect opportunity! I absolutely love the front and back curved seams on the dress, they are so my style. What I liked most about this dress pattern is that it would work best sewn in spandex, my favorite fabric. Since I was going to make it is spandex, I cut the pattern a size smaller than I usually am.
For the center panel I used a leather-look black metallic spandex, and for the side panels I used a black mesh spandex with sparkle polka dots. On the red carpet I have seen some celebs rock the mesh polka dots so I wanted to give it a try. I lined the side panels with nude spandex so the dress wasn’t too risque.
It was hard for me to do just a little black dress, since I love color so much! But I guess every gal needs one…and I’ll just have to wear crazy-awesome shoes with it!
