Cesky Brod, Czec...
I managed to make the Little Black Dress I’ve always wanted to have… To tell the truth, some details were worked out along the way (many thanks to my sister for her input!), but the overall result is everything I could wish it to be, at least style-wise. :-)
The pattern started out as a free Lekala pattern, but the “custom fit” factor failed, and I muslined and altered it heavily – for fit, and for style; so basically now it’s my own pattern.
Fitted bodice (go, elastan!) with a side zipper, knife-pleated skirt (go, stiff fabrics!). Shaped sleeve hems and topstitched facings. A V neckline in the back – love!
(Accompanied by a vintage American hat I got from Lisa of Searching for a Balance blog – perfect match!)
I’m still considering adding some sort of waist stay and bra strap holders, though.
79% viscose/rayon, 15% polyamid, 6% elastan – ribbed, one-way stretch fabric, last three meters on the bolt!
