I found the felted wool in Value Village for $5 and also the lining fabric for $1, The result is very warm as the wool is thick. Although bulky the wool was quite easy to sew and the pattern simple….maybe a second in a different fabric??

Gorgeous coat and very professional job. Will you need to dry clean it? I’m interested in using wool but I hate to spend the money to dry clean when I can save tons by buying bargain fabric and making it myself. Spending all that money on dry cleaning seems to defeat the purpose. I’ve been told you can hand wash a wool garment without shrinking it but I’m not sure that’s true.
