The pattern is Simplicity 2971 from 1959. The fabric used is a red & off white polka dot cotton with the contrasting colourway for the large protrait collar. The seams are all stitched & pinked, the hem is taped with an off-white seam tape & hand stitched into place. I used an invisible zip, about 7cm longer than the one they suggest to make it easier to get on & off.
Daughter No2 really loves this dress, & this one is not for sale! She gets to keep it. For more photos & information, visit Vintage Belle
