Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is a bold color choice for me since I don’t tend to wear a lot of bright colors but I always liked the red and purple/hot pink color combo that you see in fashion mags. I’m quite happy with the result but I’m still wondering if it’s “me”! I love the pockets on this dress. This was my first successful pocket insertion and I’m quite pleased about the way it came out.
Material Notes
2.5 yards cotton in red, a small piece of a matching or contrasting fabric

I love your red and purple combo. I made the short sleeved version of this dress (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/sew-many-stripes?image=221284). The pattern is a dream, so easy to work with. Good job (and the bold colours really suit you).

Thank you! I’ve been a member of Burdastyle for many years now but for some reason never posted any pictures of my projects. I thought it was about time. The dresses were made in the course of this year and not all at the same time! Wish I were that prolific!

Actually, it’s in my studio: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/portfolio-dress. Note to self: if you make this with a directional print, match at the pocket overlay and the front panels. My print’s off.
