I bought this great bedspread from an op shop probably half a year ago, and i think i intended to make a little skirt overall thing. But as time went on i got lazy and it never happened.
This year for my 21st my best friends mum, who is Norwegian gave me 6 Reindeer antler buttons. Refer to the last picture for more details haha. The bed spread was perfect, and it was all ready patch worked, so i took it apart and played with all the panels and took off the lion trim and this is what came of it all.
I used vogue pattern V1102. Which i have previosuly used for my Howdy Helicopter project. However this time i made some fittind adjustments. I altered the front pattern piece so it didnt have this small gapeing amount at the cf neck, (which annoyed me so so so much when i had finished my first version, kicked myself for not making a muslin) and then pivotted out a bit out of the cut out back so it sat flatter against my body.
I used my brand new Huskvana Emerald 203 which was super fun and exciting, which i also got from my extended family for my 21st! I Even embroided machine writting for the first time onto the inside bodice!
Self lined, moved the invisible zip from CB to the left side seam and shortened the hem line by about 15cm. I closed up the back with some ruched/gathered fabric, and added the decrotive lion panel across the top. Still think ill add a little brown bow to the back….just as a finishing touch!
This dress is super fun and im so happy i didn’t use this fabric earlier (wooo for hording yeh?!?) and because it’s autumn over here the colours are perfect!
OH! and i added one pocket on the right side….couldn’t figure out how to put one where the zipper was….anyone?
