Linen dress with decoration

Added Jan 19, 2014

by Ellen Hatteland

Nedre Vats, Norway

Linen is one of my favorite fabric and therefore I had to try this pattern #118 Burda 07/2007. This was a new challenge for me because I had not tried to make fringes before, but it was easy when I followed the instruction. I washed the black linen before I used it together with this light blue linen (I was afraid for decolorization) I had to be patient for making all those little squares took me a while.., but I’m happy with the result ;)

Material Notes

Spring, Fall
Garment Type
Casual, Evening Wear

Thanks again! You’re so sweet ;) I just love trying new patterns, so it’s seldom that I use the same pattern over again… :)

Both a nice and merry dress. Looks well, better than in magazine – smartier. Creates a nice mood for everybody who sees you in it. And although the style is different, it matches the cardigan well. The cardigan makes the outfit elegant:-)

Love your choice of styles and fabrics Ellen. That reminds me, back home in Aust. I have a stash of Burda magazines from the 90s, must have another look at those when I get home in July. Will be a blast from the past! Local newsagents stopped selling Burda after that. I can imagine making all those frayed squares would be like being entranced in the moment. What a wonderful dress Ellen. Looking chic as usual.
