I finally dragged the boy to our new IKEA store and as well as some delicious meatballs and some uneccessary homeware tat i also picked up this awesome printed fabric.
I decided to make the Linda again cos it is such a simple pattern that creates a really swooshy cool skirt. I didn’t line this one so it literally took about an hour from start to finish.
I put an in seam pocket in this one and also made the waistband about 2cm taller.
It doesn’t have quite as much movement as the green version as the IKEA fabric is slightly thick and stiff ( I REALLY wish IKEA would sell all their awesome prints on normal cotton fabric instead of the thicker upholstery type fabric)

very nice, I am in great envy! and I completely second the idea of using clothing fabrics with those prints at IKEA! I have yards of this purple fabric from there sitting in wait that I realized won’t make a fabulous dress after all..

I love your new skirt. I’ll have to ck out that pattern too! I only wish Ikea was closer to me, we have about a 2 hr drive so I don’t get there as much as I’d like. Maybe better on the checkbook though!

hey, thanks for your comment.
They just built an IKEA in Southampton where I live. It’s a massive blue and ugly building that blocks out the sun(!) but the Fabric inside makes it all worthwhile.
It’s all at good prices too.
Cheers,
Candy
