This dress was a weekend project which I hoped would be good for biking and still be very cute! This is another version of the sadie pattern, yet i only used the front and back shirt pieces, and the skirt pieces. Also, I have just started learning to embroider so the design on the front was an experiment in freehanding it. The fabric used was part of a free bolt at my university’s textiles building and worked perfectly due to its soft couderoy feel and strech, even though I have no idea what its made of…

This dress is wonderful – I don’t know the right word for it – is it gentle or frail or feathery, my dictionary does not tell. The lime color makes it to what I can’t tell.

Thanks! Its actually from the Sadie pattern, which I have made many versions of this summer and love all of them! Lately I have been substituting the back collar for a hood and it has translated quite well!

Squeeze-able! Your photo’s are adorable! Really cute dress. I love the bodice and I really like the back of the dress with the pleats, looks sassy but not widening (which pleats can do.) Also the cowl neck is really nice. I can imagine that this dress would translate into a great winter dress with a fine wool. Good job!
