Description

Made of Paton’s sock wool, this winter play cardigan will keep my niece Lillian warm and cozy as she scoots around the drafty wood floors of her grandparents’ house. It is crafted from a Lion Brand Yarn pattern but I chose to use a real fiber instead of acryllic “Babysoft”, which was the recommended yarn. Using sock wool also produced a delicate lace from this single-crochet-double-crochet pattern. It ended up fitting her perfectly and the asymetrical collar is so trendy yet classic.

Material Notes

Paton’s sock wool (2 balls).

Good for you for choosing such a sophisticated color and texture for a baby’s garment. I usually skip right over kids clothing, but your cardigan really caught my attention. Really. Wish I had one exactly like it for myself. It’s really beautiful. And I’ll bet it’s one that will remain with her for a lifetime, being cherished and kept safe in the cedar chest until she can share it with her own children.
