This is the Chantilly dress by Colette Patterns. The pattern is very easy to follow and sew up, but I struggled with getting the gathering even at the bust (not pattern’s fault!) I love this dress, although it fits better for warmer weather than the freezing 6 degrees (celsius) we’re experiencing in Norway at the moment.. (So sorry for the crappy iphone-picture.. didn’t have access to neither camera nor photographer)

Such a beautiful dress! Can’t wait to try the pattern out, although I think you did a superb job with matching fabric and pattern and I don’t think I can top that…. Lovely!

Wow! Beautiful fabric and great job, I think it looks fantastic. It is very flattering too.
My mother in law told me the best way to gather is to sew a basting stitch then tug on the thread (carefully) to get the gather you want. You may already know this trick, but it was news to me!

Thank you for the nice comments and thank you for the tip! That is the way to do it, yes, but getting the gathers evenly spread is the problem in this case.. :)

Such beautiful fabric! And the dress fits you perfectly! Amazing! Although I am slightly jealous of the cold you have in Bergen – would you like to swap with our humidity?! This dress would be perfect! :)

Thank you :) I would swap Bergen for Tokyo any day! I was in Japan in May this year and had a wonderful time! I will definitely go back -loved every minute of it :)

Japan is pretty cool – where did you go? Very glad you liked it! You chose a perfect time to visit! I still think I would swap it for Bergen though – it looks so beautiful in the photos and I really liked Norway when I visited a few years ago. And you have snow! I can’t tell you how jealous I am! :)
