This fabric was a find from a discount section of a fabric shop. I thought it was wonderful and bought it immediately, despite the fact that the piece was quite small. At home I tried to figure out what I could make from it, but all my plans would have needed more fabric. I ended up making a pattern for a sleeveless vest dress, but even that wouldn’t work. I had already decided that I wanted to make some seams in the middle of the pieces as an effect and thought I could cut the different blocks different way among each other so that I could fit the pattern pieces on the fabric. The differently way cut pieces reflect the light differently creating different “color” areas. I was very inspired of my idea and loved making this dress. I like it because it’s simple but the blocks give the dress an interesting twist. I sew the hems by hand for more finished look and I’m happy that I took the effort. The blouse shirt is an earlier project. I have also made the yellow knitted bow.
