A lovelly summery day, a new creation complete, what better excuse to wear it than to go and feed the ducks at the park!!!
When I bought this duvet set (yes, it’s made from bedding again!) I wasn’t sure if it would work. I thought the dress might be too “in your face”. But when I realised the ends were the plain turquiose colour Ii was overjoyed because that allowed me to make the bodice, fully lined and fitted, out of the plain material and use the beautiful patterned section for the gathered skirt.
I wanted the back of this dress to be a little unusual so I created a cut out back and fastened the top and bottom of the cut out section with these cute little love heart buttons that matched the colour of the dress perfectly!
I can’t take credit for the belt I am wearing with the dress in this photograph, I found in my wardrobe, but I thought it went perfectly, breaking up the colour of the dress.
I hope you like it, let me know what you think!

I have always considered but never actually knew that it was ok to use duvet material for dresses. That opens a whole new galaxy of opportunity for me. AWESOME DRESS!

i took a gamble a couple of weeks back on a hunch, i wasn’t sure if it would work either, but it did and i loved the result. you do have to be careful sometimes, depending on the make of the bedding the material can be either quite thick or really thin, so try and have a feel of it before you purchase it. I’d love to see what you create xx

Brilliant! I love fabric that starts plain and develops into a pattern but its so difficult to source but bedding is the perfect solution. I will definately be stealing this! Haha (If you dont mind :D) x
