Let Purple Be The Color Of Spring! Girls Dress

Description
This dress was thrown together in a day, well less than that if you don’t count the interuptions from my young’ns! The purple satin was from scraps of my bridesmaid dresses that I had put into a skirt for a dress. I decieded to scrap the dress (too small) and used the purple here. THe organza I have been holding onto for about 3 years now and I really wanted to use it for a spring dress for my daughter. I only had a yard of it so I knew I was going to have to use it soon before she grew out of it! Overal all I am pleased with how it turned out considering the time and fabric. I used Simplicity 9497 but changed the neckline. I wanted to add a little extra fullness to the skirt since the organza had so much body to it so the skirt pieces are circular (not a full circle skirt thought). This worked out nicely becaue of the shape of my scraps. I was not very exact (also due to the shape of my scraps) so the over skirt and hemline have an uneven point (the underskirt in longer in the front than other edges). I had some doubts about the color choice too but when I saw her in the sunshine I loved it!
Material Notes
The satin is a polyester satin from JoAnn Fabrics from their “Casa Collection”
