My 13 year old son has to go on a trip to China this weekend and it’s going to be very cold…BRRRR..:( I tried to shop for leg warmers and even spats for him. The leg warmers I saw in the stores were either too girly or too tight, and the price wasn’t in my budget book, they cost somewhere between US$18 – US$50 here ‘:O. So I decided to make him a pair of leg warmers so I can rest assured he will be protected from the cold wind and dropping temperature. I bought a fleece cot blanket at US$2.00, got out my recycled buttons and some elastic, measured his legs and instep, cut up the fleece fabric and sewed this comfy pair of leg warmers for him to bring for his trip. It took less than 2 hours to complete this. The fleece is so lightweight, soft and warm, I wanted to wear it myself, unfortunately we do not have temperatures below 24 deg C. (got rain, but no snow)….Oh well, I saved a bundle plus this is just right for him. I will probably make another pair for my 15 year old boy too. :D….I’m now thinking ….armwarmers…. :)
