Description

I made this cropped collarless lined jacket with princess seam pockets from Vogue 8916 pattern. I added princess seams to the back panel for more shaping of this boxy jacket and to help with material piecing if I make it in leather. I made this in an inexpensive polyester woven material that resembles the feel, look and thickness of a soft leather as a wearable muslin for a possible real leather version. I am not sure I love the fit of this jacket and if the style would be most valuable to me made up in my lovely leather that I have been saving and wanting to use. I will wear it for a while and see how I feel about it. Meanwhile, it was a good, easy pattern to sew and I enjoy the results.

I love it. I am starting the same “leather-testing-muslin”-process this fall and hope to sew my very first leather jacket soon. Excited to see your leather version!

Thanks MariaKAlex! A leather jacket is always so nice, especially if you can create a beautiful one yourself! I hope to see your version soon as well!

Thanks Mary! I have enjoyed it so far, so a leather (or suede) version may be coming in the near future :)
