Leather "Want To Be" Jacket

Added Oct 1, 2013

by slmnstyle

Portland, Oregon...

I made this cropped collarless lined jacket with princess seam pockets from Vogue 8916 pattern. I added princess seams to the back panel for more shaping of this boxy jacket and to help with material piecing if I make it in leather. I made this in an inexpensive polyester woven material that resembles the feel, look and thickness of a soft leather as a wearable muslin for a possible real leather version. I am not sure I love the fit of this jacket and if the style would be most valuable to me made up in my lovely leather that I have been saving and wanting to use. I will wear it for a while and see how I feel about it. Meanwhile, it was a good, easy pattern to sew and I enjoy the results.

Material Notes

Polyester outer,
Rayon lining,

Garment Type
Business, Casual
Polyester, Rayon

I think it’s gorgeous on you. The shape and style are fab for a muslin this is so fab. I think it would look great in leather x

Thanks Mary! I have enjoyed it so far, so a leather (or suede) version may be coming in the near future :)
