I wanted a satchel but I couldn’t find one that was a design I liked, a colour I liked and that was real leather too so I decided to make one! First I made a mock-up of the bag in paper so I could see what size I was going to make it. Then I disassembled the pieces and used them as a template to cut the leather. This bag is lined in leopard satin. It took about 18 hours to make. This bag is 100% leather and my own design.
100% leather, solid brass rivets, 3 solid brass buckles, solid brass “D” rings and thread.

Great job with the bag! It looks really sturdy. Could you write a tutorial with the pattern, please?

I’d like to make one… To my mind, leather is to much expansive in France…

wow, very impressive! how did you make the straps? is it a single piece of leather or two pieces sewn together? (if that makes sense…)

Hello! The strap is made from 2 pieces of leather sewn together to make it stronger.

Hello, yes I used my regular sewing machine. The leather is soft so it was easy to work with.

That is one beautiful work! I planning to make a backpack/satchel bag and there’s just not enough pattern around to make one. I think I’ll get a bag and make a mock pattern out of it like what you did. Great job!
