The first thing I did was cover the skinny belt in the leather strip. I cut the long strip of leather long enough so that it can cover the belt and then I stitched the sides together so that they are tight.
It is a little tricky around the clasp of the belt, but I just cut little notches and sewed them together. It felt a little bit like wrapping a gift, you just have to fold down the sides of the leather around the belt so that it doesn’t look bunched up or bulky.
