A very simple, easy, quick dress. No darts, no zips, no buttons! Ten steps (excluding options) to a fabulous dress!
Here’s the instructions, I’ll add them in a separate page later on (haven’t got any pictures at the moment)
1. Do you need a new dress? Go on, you know you do.
2. Decide how long you want your new dress to be. Measure from your shoulder.
2.1 Add a bit extra for the seams, and for if you decide you’d like it a little longer after all.
2.2 Add another 10 cm because you’re going to wear a belt on this dress, and you don’t want your knickers to show, do you?
3. Measure your waist, i.e. your bra size. Double it.
4. Buy a nice fabric you’d like to turn into a dress, size of 2 and 3 combined. Let’s take 95cm x 150cm to make things easier. That’s length x (brasize x 2).
5. Cut it in half. You now have two bits of 95cm x 75 cm.
6. Zigzag all edges to stop them from fraying.
7. Put the right sides together, you might want to use pins. Sew the side seams (95cm), except for the last 20cm. This will be the sleeve.
8. Take one short side (the top). Put two safety pins where you think you want the shoulder seams to be. Leave enough room for your head.
9. Try it on. It’ll look like a bin bag, but all it needs is a belt!
10. Sew the shoulder seams you pinned together at 8. Anything from 1cm to 10cm should look fine.
Wear it with a belt or a nice ribbon.
Now, you could make it look nicer…
Satin, bias tape, a nice long ribbon.

The ribbon belt is the perfect contrast for your lovely dress. What made you chose the green color?

Firstly, it was cheap, but I also think it makes it look slightly less formal.
