This dress was made for my ‘week 16’ of A Sewn Item A Week.
Inspired by my friend who had ‘classy’ windcheaters, I thought I would make a cosy number for the upcoming Melbourne winter season. Made from ‘windcheater’ material, the fabric (charcoal grey) has a slight stretch to it, and hence this item has no zips.
There are darts in the front panel, and four buttons toward the neck line. The cuffs, collar and base of the skirt is made from burgundy ribbing. I added an additional diagonal seam across the front of the dress for interest (initially in case a zip was needed). And yes, it is a little Star Trekky!

Great dress. Beautiful and functional and warm. Perfect for winter time. Are you still going to post the pattern? I love to make one and wear it of course.

Thanks for all the support gals! :-) I’d be more than happy to post the pattern up – just need to transfer it into the digital world… I’ll get onto that!

Looks very cosy & perfect for any time wear (daytime or date-time). I’m currently on the hunt for winter clothes patterns too. Any chance you’ll be posting this one?

It may be Star Trekky, but Janeway never looked this good in her uniform. Urgh, giving away my Star Trek nerd status here… :-) Very, very nice, and love the heels too. You look great!
