Kuala Lumpur, Ma...
I love me a shift dress/tunic/shapeless airy thing — hides my belly when I feel bloated, and I get to fuss about which belt goes with which outfit (I love me a belt too). I found a large frumpy dress at the vintage shop (it was probably RM5 or RM10), and just adored the little flower prints against the olive green fabric. Feels like 100% cotton (and crumples like it too lol).
I took the large dress apart, dissected the sleeves and frilly collars and hems, and drafted a simple pattern with side bust darts. Because there were already gathers on the yoke, I didn’t really want to add darts (also not sure whether that would turn out nice or not, hmm..)… and I ended up with this dress!
