Layla Jacket

Added Dec 21, 2011

by Rosalie Boland

Sydney, Australia

i was given the pattern butterick b4929 to use and i had always wanted to try my hand with pin tucking so i created this jacket for my good friend Layla. I admit the pin tucking could be better but it was difficult working with such a large piece of fabric. At least she likes the jacket

Material Notes

i used a thin grey wool i had been given and took the zip out of a jacket i got at a second hand store. apparently it is hard to get an open ended metal tooth zip in a 40cm length as i found out.

Wow, who would think you could make something so cool and modern looking out of that pattern. You’re a visionary!

Thank you so much! I hated the pattern but i had to find something to do with it. I am glad you approve of my interpretation.
