When my first idea for a christmas party dress wound up being too warm for the afternoon event I made a last minute dash the night before and bought this lovely red ponte knit fabric. I used a tried’n true pattern, New Look 6643, with a couple of adjustments, added a bow and hurrah finished in 3 hours.

1.75m of Ponte de Roma knit. This fabric is perfect if you’re in a hurry – it’s forgiving, you can skip the zipper in most cases and the raw edges won’t fray so no need for finishing the seams.
